Mistakes to avoid
- The U2D2 only carries data. Servo power comes from a separate supply, usually through the U2D2 Power Hub Board ($21.85 at ROBOTIS).
- Trossen's X-series arms use a U2D2 as their controller, so each ALOHA arm already has one; Mobile ALOHA buys one more for the wheel encoders.
Builds that use it
ALOHA

ALOHA's four Trossen arms on an AgileX Tracer base with a laptop and battery for whole body mobile teleoperation.
OpenMANIPULATOR-X (RM-X52-TNM)
intermediate · $1,710 to $2,160
Five-servo DYNAMIXEL desktop arm with a parallel gripper and full ROS 2 support, often paired with TurtleBot3 for teaching.
